Allison White, ACSW, LCSW, CCDP-D
I have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years, helping people overcome feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, low self-esteem, addiction and other mental health issues. I also assist people who have health conditions that impact quality of life.
I’m a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) therapist with a specialization working with people who have experienced trauma and other adverse life experiences.
I believe in using a holistic, integrated approach to help people overcome barriers in their lives as part of whole person care.
I also received advanced training in pet loss/bereavement, compassion fatigue (in the work place and among caregivers) and human-animal interactions. I’ve been active in animal-related activities and trained two dogs as TOUCH therapy dogs, one of which was certified in animal-assisted crisis response. I experienced the power of the human-animal bond and grief after losing my “heart” dog after an illness. I also volunteer in a pet therapy program and see radical changes pets make in people’s recovery and lives. Sharing my therapy pets with others has been an important part of my career as a social worker.
I am passionate about helping you overcome obstacles and identify strengths so you can make positive changes in your life. We can work together to turn your life into a more positive direction!
